Osborne House Isle of Wight
Wednesday 23 May 2018

Osborne House, located on the Isle of Wight and overlooking the Solent was designed by Prince Albert in the style of Italian Renaissance Palazzio. It was intended for he and Queen Victoria to enjoy holidays with their families to get away from the court bustle for their birthdays and pre-Christmas celebrations. It was built between 1845 and 1851. Queen Victoria remarked 'it is impossible to imagine a prettier spot'. She died here in 1901. The Garden Terrace, Andromeda Fountain and Shell Alcove have been renovated and are, for the first time open to the public.

There will be a guided tour of the House lasting approximately 1.5hrs and a further 2.5hrs for you to purchase lunch, walk in the gardens, visit Swiss Cottage and the beach. An early start is essential to enable a Private Guided tour of the House.
